Throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, you will support the Vessel Operations Manager in maintaining communication and direction between onshore and the assigned vessel(s). This role involves contributing to the development of project-specific deliverables during the tender and execution phases to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, robust, and efficient solution that considers all risks and opportunities. You will have the chance to work closely with Vessel Operations Managers and the Pipeline Group Operations Delivery Director, with travel required to work sites and regional offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) processes, ensuring their implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Vessel Operations Manager to establish performance metrics for consistent vessel performance.
  • Monitor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance at worksites, compile safety observations, and prepare monthly reports highlighting trends and improvement suggestions.
  • Support the risk mitigation process by ensuring effective action plans through Synergi Case Management.
  • Review and support the completion of end-of-trip reports, focusing on areas for improvement.
  • Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, including data presentation as needed.
  • Provide detailed information on vessel capabilities and best practices, offering design guidance.
  • Contribute to the development of project schedules, covering spooling, mobilization, transit, maintenance, repair, and demobilization.
  • Participate in technical reviews, and conduct risk and opportunity assessments.
  • Understand cost drivers and the calculation of the vessel day rate, aiding project preparation.
  • Assist in preparing monthly vessel performance data, explaining variances from the plan and actions taken.
  • Manage and promote the correct use of the Vessel's Public and Team Operations SharePoint sites.
  • Ensure the vessel and project are well-prepared for success through the readiness process.
  • Review project logistics plans, including traffic management and crew change procedures.
  • Plan detailed port-call schedules between projects and Offshore Resources activities.
  • Lead or support the review of mobilization plans, including testing, loading, and equipment setup.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth vessel operations.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling vessel operations, verifying project-initiated changes.
  • Participate in daily conference calls to follow up on project requirements and provide operational support.

Requirements:

  • Background in subsea construction vessel operations, pipelaying, and rigid pipeline fabrication, with an engineering degree.
  • Experience with pipelay, heavy/light construction, IRM, or DSV vessels is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management abilities.
  • Knowledge of IMO, Class & Flag, and ISM regulations is advantageous.
  • Benefits
    • Career development with a range of learning and development opportunities.
    • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid, part-time, and flexitime options.
    • Enhanced maternity/paternity leave/adoption leave.
    • A fantastic benefits package, including a generous holiday allowance, pension scheme, discounted health and wellbeing packages, and an electric car salary sacrifice scheme.
