Job Specification: Originator and Project Developer for Wind and Photovoltaic Projects (Germany)
Company: Petroplan (Supporting a Leading Renewable Energy Client)
Location: Berlin, Germany (Remote work possible with at least two days presence in the office, if no other site trips are required)

As of 2023, their operational capacity exceeds 62 GW, with a substantial portion derived from renewable sources.



Your Tasks:

  • Project Identification and Acquisition: Identify suitable project areas, negotiate with landowners, and acquire land for renewable energy projects. Coordinate with external land agents as necessary.
  • Project Development: Oversee the development of wind and photovoltaic projects and manage coordination with external development partners. Establish the project structure, coordinate scheduling, and manage documentation throughout the project development cycle until the project is ready to build.
  • Contract Negotiation and Support: Negotiate and assist in drafting leasing, utilization, design, and urban development contracts with landowners and authorities, leveraging support from legal and technical teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain close contact with community representatives, political and planning authorities. Represent the company, promote the project, and obtain necessary commitments. Oversee urban land use planning and coordinate the building permit procedure.
  • Internal and External Coordination: Manage and coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including authorities, corporate departments (technical planning, purchasing, sales), suppliers, service providers (environmental reports, building planning), and energy supply companies (grid connection).

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: Several years of professional experience in the development and acquisition of onshore wind and/or photovoltaic projects in the German market.
  • Network and Market Knowledge: Extensive network in the wind and solar industry with excellent knowledge of the market situation in Germany, particularly in Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt.
  • Skills and Personality: Team player with an open sales personality, high initiative, excellent negotiating skills, assertiveness, and a responsible working style. Enthusiasm for working in a fast-growing company, decision-making, and process formation.
  • Project Evaluation: Sound experience in evaluating wind and/or photovoltaic projects across all development phases.
  • Legal Knowledge: Knowledge of real estate law and environmental law is advantageous.
  • Mobility: Strong willingness to be mobile.
  • Language Skills: Native German and fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Driving License: At least class B.
