Project Controls Engineer Location: Rotterdam, South Holland


Job Overview Petroplan are sourcing a Project Controls Engineer to oversee the construction of a cutting-edge LNG tank in Netherlands / Rotterdam.
This role is pivotal to ensuring the seamless coordination of contractors, tracking project progress, and driving construction efficiency on a high-profile industrial project.

Offered as a contract position; 12 Month initial term (Renewable) 

The ideal candidate will excel in coordinating across disciplines, producing detailed progress reports, and fostering collaboration to maintain momentum and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor and evaluate the schedules and performance of contractors across various disciplines.
  • System Implementation: Develop tools and processes to measure weekly construction progress and consolidate overall project updates.
  • Data Analysis: Calculate weekly progress metrics by discipline and contractor while monitoring labor hours for direct and indirect activities.
  • Reporting: Compile comprehensive weekly reports on project advancement to inform stakeholders and support decision-making.
  • Coordination: Lead weekly contractor progress meetings, document actionable insights, and participate in monthly discussions to address key project matters.
  • Documentation Review: Evaluate contractors’ Work Method Statements to ensure compliance with project standards and provide actionable feedback.
Jobs Requirements
  • A degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in industrial projects | 2 years in on-site planning roles.
  • Expertise in progress measurement, planning, and productivity analysis for complex industrial developments.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 for scheduling, productivity tracking, and curve generation.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities, with confidence in contributing to and moderating meetings.
Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with cost control systems is an advantage.
  • Basic Spanish proficiency is preferred but not essential.
  • Willingness to relocate or undertake assignments within Europe.
  • Additional certifications or postgraduate studies in relevant fields will be considered favorably.
