As a Lead Installation Analysis Engineer in the RIAU department (Risers, Installation Analyses, and Umbilical), you will oversee large installation analysis scopes during the Project/Tender/FEED phases.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing the overall installation analysis scope package, encompassing Flexible/Umbilical/Cable Lay, Structure, and Mooring installation.
  • Supporting the in-place analysis scope of static Flexible flowlines and jumpers.
  • Coordinating a team of 2 to 8 analysis engineers to manage engineering tasks, optimization, workload, and schedule.
  • Supporting various training and continuous improvement initiatives by:
    • Developing internal tools, guidelines, templates, and training materials.
    • Promoting knowledge sharing within the discipline.
    • Assisting trainees and less experienced engineers.

At the start of the Project/Tender/FEED, you will:

  • Identify the scope of work, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements.
  • Understand project/client expectations and gather relevant past lessons learned.
  • Identify required project interfaces and agree on a schedule and resource plan with department managers.
  • Organize a kick-off meeting with the analysis team, installation method team, discipline managers, and project engineering manager.
  • Assist in preparing estimates for bid proposals, including technical query reviews, execution statements, and manhour estimates.

During the Project/Tender/FEED, you will:

  • Prepare discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, technical specifications, and design reports as needed.
  • Perform and review OrcaFlex analysis to ensure it aligns with the agreed design brief and basis, and ensure the QA/QC process is followed correctly by the team.
  • Deliver relevant project interfaces and ensure alignment with other design engineering departments, Installation Method Engineers, SPS suppliers, Clients, Engineering Managers, and Flexible/Umbilical Engineers.
  • Organize regular meetings with the analysis team and maintain an action register. Issue regular reports, including document progress, resource mobilization planning, manhour tracking, and track technical changes from the base scope.
  • Attend project review meetings, vendor meetings, and engineering meetings organized by other disciplines.
  • Organize and chair analysis engineering reviews (both internal and external).
  • Participate in customer and third-party technical audits of engineering deliverables and vendor documents.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical/Structural/Civil/Hydrodynamic Engineering; a Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry or equivalent, with a preference for experience with EPCI contractors or consultants focused on construction and installation design.
  • Extensive knowledge of design techniques and installation analysis in OrcaFlex, and familiarity with applicable standard codes (e.g., DNVGL-ST-N001).
  • Experience in developing small engineering teams.
