The position will involve coordinating and interacting internally with the PMC Business Unit, Functional Managers, all engineering disciplines (Technology, Process, Engineering Design), and non-engineering disciplines (project controls, planning, procurement, construction). There will also be significant interaction with external clients, subcontractors, vendors, partners, authorities, and licensors.

  • Planning and managing engineering resources, identifying and pursuing opportunities for margin improvement, including High-Value Engineering Centers (HVEC).
  • Overseeing small to medium-sized projects, providing direction and leadership within the project environment to groups of engineering disciplines and SMEs.
  • Directing the development of engineering project execution strategies; identifying technical interfaces, technical risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Implementing, controlling, and resolving all aspects of interface management, including plant physical battery limits, external third-party physical interfaces, client, subcontractor, or licensor interfaces as required for the project.
  • Developing and managing the engineering input to the project schedule, ensuring compliance with requirements, schedule milestones, and key performance indicators.
  • Defining engineering discipline roles and responsibilities, providing information on project requirements, budgets, schedules, and success factors.
  • Generating key documents that direct engineering strategy and implementation, ensuring technical excellence.
  • Coordinating with other leaders within the project organization to address multi-discipline interfaces and resolve technical issues.

Desired Expertise & Experience:

  • BSc / MSc qualification in engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable diversity of project execution experience in a relevant industry sector.
  • Industry experience in Feasibility/PDP/FEED/EPC/PMC environments.
  • Solid background as a Project Engineer.
  • Familiarity with tendering practices of PDP, FEED, and EPC, and exposure to tender evaluation and scoring criteria/processes.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Competency in engineering work processes, inter-discipline relationships (enablers), schedule logic, and developing overall TIC cost estimates and PDP/FEED/EPC tender packages.
  • Excellent communication skills and an understanding of contracts and project-related financial issues.
  • Beneficial but not essential: Site experience, UK project background, exposure to contractual and commercial documents, knowledge of strategic planning and business objectives, and project financing knowledge.
