QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Mandatory
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability reporting frameworks and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and sustainability softwares.
- Experience in developing carbon reduction roadmaps and identification of Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emission
- Experience in planning and strategy in O&G is an added advantage
- Passionate about climate change, energy transition and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reduction
KEY OBJECTIVES
- Key role in developing, implementing and monitoring sustainability programs and decarbonization road map initiatives within COMPANY Malaysia Asset.
- Drive environmental performance, ensuring compliance with regulations, promoting sustainable practices across all operations and increase awareness and engagement amongst employees of COMPANY Malaysia Asset.
- Engage, understand, and address stakeholders issues to ensure just transition as COMPANY MY moves along its sustainability journey
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist in development and implementation of COMPANY Malaysia net zero road map, sustainability strategy linked to UNSDG Sustainable Development Goals and 2030 Emission Target.
JOB DESCRIPTION: ADVISOR, SUSTAINABILITY
- Collaborate with various departments to identify opportunities for improving sustainability performance and reducing environmental impact from decentralized approach to a more structured approach.
- Lead the implementation of sustainability management through performance tracking, monitoring, verification of data and reporting.
- Lead sustainability programs and initiatives to improve awareness and knowledge on various aspects of sustainability, enhance the Company's visibility, and achieve industry recognition through awards.
- Focal person in ensuring that the sustainability programs and initiatives are aligned and in compliance with COMPANY Corporate Sustainability Policy and practice, Local States and Federal Environmental Regulations and Standards.
- Collect and analyze data for sustainability reporting and other stakeholder communication.
- Measuring and reporting accurate records of sustainability metrics and ensure transparency in reporting.
- Design and implement awareness and education program for employees.
- Promote awareness, understanding and engagement amongst employees on sustainability issues and company initiatives through training, workshops and communications.
- Monitor emerging trends and regulations to ensure proactive risk management.
- Assess and identify risk and develop mitigation strategies.
- Research and recommend innovative sustainability solutions and best practices.
- Benchmark Company's sustainability performance against industry standards.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including PETRONAS, JV Partners, Regulatory bodies, Communities and Employees.
