Senior Civil & Structural Engineer

Job Description

Detailed Responsibilities:

* To manage and complete a wide range of engineering work including:
- Feasibility study
- EPC tendering document preparation
- Technical/engineering specification preparation
- Detail engineering design
- etc
* To independently perform engineering reviews for designs, specifications or drawings submitted by design institutes or engineering consultants
* Capable of independently providing solutions to resolve technical challenges as well as providing improvement suggestions where possible
* To participate in the preparation of Company's technical standards, design guidelines and best practices
* To provide engineering design, procurement and quality management services for Company's international projects
* To liaise with international design institutes/consultants for design drawing and engineering specification reviews
* To manage the execution supervision team to ensure work quality and work progress meet requirements
* To prepare purchase requisitions and provide technical bid evaluation input
* To organize, attend / chair and prepare minute of all technical meetings related to CS discipline
* To provide engineering technical support for construction
* Any other ad-hoc task may be assigned by the superior from time-to-time

Qualifications & Required Knowledge:

• Min Bachelor / Master in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years work experiences in a petrochemical refinery or an oil & gas facility or a petrochemical/oil & gas engineering consultant firm or EPC contractor or major CS construction firm and has been involved in implementing either green field or brown field projects with the role of CS discipline engineer, design engineer or construction engineer
• Familiar with Malaysia standard and code
• Familiar with Malaysia mandatory demand and authority requirements
• Proficient in critical equipment foundation design in a petrochemical refinery and hydrogenation unit
• Familiar with civil and structural engineering design workflow and design practices/requirements
• Familiar with international/industrial codes and standards such as API, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, ISO, BS, AWS, AISC, MS, UBBL, JKR, SPAN, etc. Able to identify the different requirements among international and local/China codes/standards/practices and propose improvements or recommend best practices.
• Familiar/experienced in engineering design/analysis tools or software
• Familiar with 3D-MODEL design and structural stress calculation
• Familiar with welding and inspection codes and standards for structural fabrication
• Ability to communicate fluently in English
• Able to do business trip for short or long periods at home and abroad
• With excellent team spirit and working culture/attitude (mutual respect, open communications and positive mindset).
