Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree, in Science and Environment Management or Safety, Health and Environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years working experience in environmental Management
  • Proactive and motivated.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong auditing, organizing and project management skills.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Fluent in oral & written English.

KEY OBJECTIVES
To provide support to SSHE Section of Malaysia Asset for

  • Meeting environmental compliance obligations to internal and external stakeholders including COMPANY Sustainable Development Goals
  • Conformance of MY Asset EMS to the ISO 14001:2015 standard and maintaining ISO 14001 certification for MY producing assets as required.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinate and participate in activities to facilitate the implementation, review and certification of the Environmental Management System (EMS) i.e. ERCMC committee, preparation and review of EMS-related work process documentation including engagements with assets and functions to advise on implementation and modification of EMS work processes as necessary, management review inputs, internal and external audits.
  • Conduct / facilitate environmental studies and applications including EIA, Post-EIA and Post-Incident and Sustainability assessments and audits including Waste Characterization and Carbon Footprint Assessments for projects and operations as required by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support preparation of environmental sustainability performance report, profiles, summary, and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders as required, including participation in environmental and sustainability data verification and audit/assurance.
  • Coordinate support and participate in environmental-related incident investigation, emergency preparedness and response.
  • Support preparation of Environmental Sustainability content for and conduct (where necessary) communication and training to internal and external stakeholders for various objectives e.g. awareness, special briefing, stakeholder engagement etc.
  • Facilitate and coordinate implementation of Environmental improvement initiatives to meet compliance obligations and/or COMPANY Sustainable Development Goals with assets and functions as required.

KEY AUTHORITIES

  • As provided / assigned by Supervisor.
  • Receive strategic direction and guidance from Head of SSHE

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities are:

  • Shared responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of all persons at any COMPANY site, including staff, contractors and visitors and for local environmental safety.
  • As HSE personnel on duty, follow up on all accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences. Ensure initial information is complete and accurate and incident released on timely manner. Initial Notification Form for submission to COMCEN is prepared as per PPGUA reporting matrix.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP

  • All levels of organization; not limited to managers, engineers & contractors.
  • MPM, PCSB and PETRONAS as required.
  • DOSH, DOE and other relevant Government Agencies as required.
