Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Education:
Should have a QS or Engineering degree and preferably having Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors or equivalent.

Experience:
Shall have more than 15 years post qualification experience (in design, civil, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation service contracts, EPCs and other engineering construction contracts) in the oil and gas industries with at least 5 years in a senior QS position preferably in an oil and gas industry.

Specific skills:
Provide post contract management "quantity surveying services" in oil and gas industry that include Engineering, Construction, Operation & Maintenance Contracts.
Post-contract management activities will include but not be limited to the followings: Manage Site QS for preparing the monthly valuations and final accounts against contract terms and conditions including visiting all other clusters to carry out complex measurements.
Establishment of star rates, providing commercial/contractual site info in his preparation of Variations to Contract and evaluating price escalations of materials, evaluating disputes & claims submitted by sub- contractors.
Attend business meetings, writes minutes of meetings, arrange meetings and follow ups
Shall report directly to the Technical Services Manager.

Role summary:
Provide governance for the overall SAP Input and all QS.
Ensure that dealings with sub-Contractors and vendors during the engagement and subsequent relationships are fair, transparent and in accordance with business principles of the Joint Venture.
Can actively train and encourage the development of Omani personnel to Quantity Surveyors roles.
