Job Opportunity: Principal Pipelines Engineer
Location: Basingstoke, UK
Contract: Permanent

A leading global energy company is seeking a Principal Pipelines Engineer to provide technical leadership on international projects. Based in Basingstoke, the successful candidate will be a key player in supporting pipeline activities through all phases of project development, from concept design to execution. You will also contribute to cutting-edge solutions in carbon capture, renewables, and hydrogen technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering design for onshore and offshore rigid pipelines across all project phases (Concept, FEED, Execution).
• Act as Project Design Lead, overseeing teams of engineers and designers on large projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Supervise and review pipeline activities such as mechanical design, stress analysis, and routing studies.
• Support CAD Designers with pipeline layouts and drawings.
• Prepare datasheets, perform bid evaluations, and address discrepancies in project proposals.
• Ensure compliance with pipeline standards, company HSEQ policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct site visits and inspections of manufacturing activities (line pipes, valves, coatings).
• Provide technical support to other disciplines during project execution (Civil, Instrumentation, Process, etc.).

Skills & Requirements:

• Extensive experience in offshore and onshore pipeline engineering in the oil and gas industry.
• Proficient in pipeline design software (e.g., DNVGL, SESAM, AutoPipe, SAGE Profile).
• Knowledge of Ansys, ABAQUS, and Orcaflex is desirable.
• Familiarity with international standards (BS, API, ASME, DNV).
• Degree in Pipeline Engineering, Subsea Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in diverse teams.
