Technical Assistant

Job Description

We're seeking a highly motivated Technical Assistant to join our client's fast-paced team in their Houston, TX office. In this crucial role, you'll play a key role in supporting their aggressive drilling program by analyzing, integrating, and visualizing Bakken asset data. The company has a large and competitive position in the Williston Basin, North Dakota.

What You'll Do:

• Partner with the Planning & Design (P&D) team to manage and analyze data for efficient decision-making.
• Develop and maintain clear and insightful dashboards and presentations to communicate data effectively.
• Collaborate with Subsurface, Data Management, and other teams to ensure data accuracy and integration.
• Troubleshoot and solve data-related challenges, proposing innovative solutions to optimize workflows.
• Automate processes to streamline data extraction and analysis.
• Leverage advanced Spotfire capabilities to create interactive data visualizations.
• Continuously improve processes and promote best practices within the Bakken asset team.

Who You Are:

• A data enthusiast with a minimum of 5 years of experience in oil & gas or a related industry.
• Proficient in SQL, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and Spotfire (data loading, linking, visualization creation, calculated columns).
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Highly motivated with a desire to improve processes and deliver results.

Bonus points if you have:

• Knowledge of oil & gas technical and business practices.
• Experience with SPS or other planning software.
• Programming skills (Python, VBA, FME, etc.).
• Experience with ArcGIS and Petrel.
