Senior Cost Analyst

Job Description

Our client, a prominent North American LNG provider, is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to be based in Arlington, VA, with occasional travel to Houston, TX, Cameron, LA, and New Orleans, LA.

Position Overview: The Senior Cost Analyst will oversee project activities, ensuring safe, cost-effective, timely, and contractually compliant results. This role requires effective communication with Project and Executive Management for timely decision-making and stakeholder input incorporation. The Senior Cost Analyst will report to the Senior Vice President of Project Controls and the Director of Corporate Cost.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

• Foster a safe work culture
• Engage with project management to review cost forecasts, change orders, trends, value of work done, and accruals
• Maintain and oversee project budgets, including detailed variance analysis
• Provide analysis and communication to project teams to meet project goals and objectives
• Oversee effective project reporting, monitoring, and evaluation, including regular project progress and performance reporting
• Support the mitigation of project challenges through creative and innovative problem-solving
• Contribute to efficient project controls oversight
• Report on project status, performance, constraints, and issues to Senior and Executive Management
• Understand industry standards thoroughly
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• 10 years of relevant cost experience in major Oil & Gas Engineering and Construction projects
• Experience with LNG Liquefaction or Combined Cycle Power Generation projects preferred
• Ability to perform multiple tasks within project deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Advanced computer experience with Microsoft Office suite; experience with EcoSys and Power BI preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to summarize and prioritize information efficiently
• Availability to work nights and weekends as required
