Meet Dalveen Gill

For every contractor Petroplan places into the field, there is a great deal of work that happens behind the scenes. Contracts need to be issued, onboarding completed, payroll managed, questions answered and problems solved.

Clients need confidence that everything is running smoothly, while contractors need to know someone is looking after them from day one until the end of their assignment.

That is where Dalveen Gill comes in.

As part of Petroplan’s operations team, Dalveen is responsible for making sure the experience matches the promise. She acts as the bridge between clients, contractors and Petroplan’s internal teams, coordinating everything that allows projects to run smoothly. For many contractors, she becomes the person they know they can call whenever they need advice, reassurance or support. It is a role built on relationships, trust and consistency, and one she has been performing for the past seven years.

Seven years is a long time in recruitment. It is an industry known for its pace and constant movement, yet Dalveen has never seriously considered leaving.

“I genuinely enjoy helping people,” she says. “Whether it’s supporting a contractor who’s starting a new assignment or making sure a client has everything they need, I like knowing I’ve made someone’s day a little easier.”

That mindset shapes everything she does.

While recruiters focus on finding exceptional talent, Dalveen’s role begins once the placement has been made. She guides contractors through onboarding, manages the operational details of their assignments and remains their trusted point of contact throughout their time with Petroplan.

The conversations are not always about paperwork or processes. Over time, they become about a whole range of different things.

“When you speak to someone regularly, you get to know them,” she says. “You understand what’s important to them, and they know they can pick up the phone if they need anything.”

That consistency benefits Petroplan’s clients as much as its contractors. Clients want confidence that everything is being managed professionally without needing to chase updates or resolve administrative issues themselves. By providing reliable operational support behind the scenes, Dalveen helps create the seamless experience that clients expect.

Her role has also evolved in recent years as Petroplan has become part of TXM Group. Working alongside colleagues across finance, payroll, legal and operations has created opportunities to share ideas, simplify processes and build stronger collaboration across the wider business.

“It’s been really interesting learning how different teams work,” Dalveen says. “Everyone brings different experience, and sometimes a conversation with someone in another department leads to a much better way of doing something.”

Despite being part of a larger group, Petroplan has retained something Dalveen values enormously: its culture.

Compared with larger recruitment businesses, she believes Petroplan’s size creates stronger relationships internally as well as externally. Teams work closely together, people readily share ideas, and colleagues are quick to step in when workloads become demanding.

“If somebody needs help, someone is always there,” she says. “There’s a real team mentality.”

That supportive environment has been one of the biggest reasons she has stayed with the company for so long.

Flexible working allows employees to balance work with family life, while managers understand that life sometimes requires appointments or personal commitments. Regular team incentives include operations as well as recruiters, reinforcing the idea that everyone’s contribution matters.

Recognition also forms part of the culture.

Regional Director Neil Bradshaw believes Dalveen exemplifies the qualities that make Petroplan successful.

“Dalveen is someone our clients, contractors and colleagues know they can rely on,” says Neil.

“She genuinely cares about people, and that comes through in every interaction she has. She’s calm under pressure, incredibly dependable, and she’s played a huge part in building the trusted relationships that are so important to Petroplan. We’re incredibly fortunate to have her on the team.”

For Dalveen, those relationships are the most rewarding part of the job.

She enjoys seeing contractors return for future assignments because they know they will be well looked after. She enjoys building lasting relationships with clients who trust Petroplan to deliver. And she enjoys working with colleagues who support one another rather than competing against each other.

Outside work, Dalveen recently relocated back to London to be closer to family. She enjoys walking, hiking and spending time on her Peloton, while podcasts provide the soundtrack to many of her quieter moments. More recently, she has discovered an unexpected passion for football after following the World Cup, enjoying the way the game brings friends and family together.

She also describes herself as naturally introverted, something she sees as a strength rather than a limitation.

Listening carefully, understanding what people need and responding thoughtfully are all qualities that translate directly into her work. They help build trust, solve problems and create the kind of experience that keeps contractors returning and clients coming back.

Looking back, Dalveen could never have predicted that accepting a role at Petroplan seven years ago would become such a significant part of her career.

Today, it is easy to understand why she stayed.

For someone who believes that every successful partnership begins with looking after people, Petroplan has proved to be exactly the right place to build a career.
